Also encountered in many other countries of Latin America, the tradition of decorating vehicles particularizes and brings personality to each vehicle through color, graphics and visual elements that are significant to the particular culture to which they belong, as well as sharing and combining new elements from the regions around which the vehicles circulate. <\/p>\n<p>The proposal of the project <strong>The Iconography of Truck Art in the Brazilian State of Pernambuco<\/strong>, developed with funding from FUNCULTURA \u2013 The State of Pernambuco Fund for Cultural Incentives \u2013 was to register the decorative visual elements of the trucks that circulate and\/or are produced in the state of Pernambuco through the creation of a digital font, which enables these elements to be reused in new media and products, as a form of preserving and promoting our local culture.<\/p>\n<p>This aim of this site is to introduce a small selection from the universe of truck art in the state of Pernambuco, through images and stories brought together during the visual research and used as the basis for creating the Carroceria Dingbat (Carroceria being the Portuguese word for the bodywork of a vehicle), as well as making this free font available for download.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<!--:--><!--:pt--><\/p>\n<h3>Preservando a mem\u00f3ria gr\u00e1fica popular e o design vernacular.<\/h3>\n<p>A ornamenta\u00e7\u00e3o de carrocerias de ve\u00edculos \u00e9 uma tradi\u00e7\u00e3o antiga, provavelmente anterior aos anos 1920, \u00e9poca em que se inicia o uso de transportes de carga motorizados no Brasil. Presente tamb\u00e9m em in\u00fameros pa\u00edses da am\u00e9rica latina, a tradi\u00e7\u00e3o de decorar carrocerias particulariza e traz personalidade a cada ve\u00edculo por meio de cores, grafismos e elementos visuais pertinentes a cada cultura onde est\u00e3o inseridos, bem como compartilha e mistura novos elementos das regi\u00f5es por onde circulam os ve\u00edculos.<\/p>\n<p>O projeto <strong>Iconografia de Caminh\u00f5es de Pernambuco<\/strong>, desenvolvido com o incentivo do FUNCULTURA &#8211; \u00a0Fundo Pernambucano de Incentivo \u00e0 Cultura &#8211; se prop\u00f4s a registrar os elementos visuais decorativos das carrocerias dos caminh\u00f5es que circulam e\/ou s\u00e3o produzidas no estado de Pernambuco por meio da cria\u00e7\u00e3o de uma fonte digital, que permite que estes elementos sejam reutilizados em novos suportes e produtos, de forma a preservar e divulgar nossa cultura local.<\/p>\n<p>Este site apresenta um pouco do universo das carrocerias de caminh\u00e3o de Pernambuco por meio de imagens e relatos constru\u00eddos durante toda a pesquisa visual utilizada como base para a elabora\u00e7\u00e3o do dingbat Carroceria, bem como disponibiliza a fonte gratuitamente para download.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<!--:--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Preserving popular graphic memory and vernacular design.
